“Dragon and Lion Dances Celebrate the New Year” Party to Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Singapore Held in Singapore

Xinhua Silk Road, Singapore, February 3 (Reporter Liu Chuntao) “Dragon and Lion Dance to Celebrate the New Year” was held in Singapore recently to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore, the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese Cultural Center, and the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s independence. The event was initiated and hosted by the Singapore-China Economic, Trade, Science, Technology, Culture and Education Exchange Association, and co-hosted by Singapore Tianfu Association, Singapore Xiamen Association, Singapore Shaanxi Association, Singapore Hebei Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Beijing Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Entrepreneurs Chamber of Commerce, Singapore Henan Association, etc., and hosted by Singapore Puli International Culture and Education Group, Jiuyue Miracle Education Technology Co., Ltd., and Mining Future Culture Co., Ltd. The event received strong support from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Qi Kuisen, Executive President of the organizer, the Singapore-China Economic, Trade, Science, Technology, Culture and Education Exchange Association, delivered a speech, and Hu Junhui PBM delivered a speech on behalf of the joint organizers and associations. Mr. Yang Gang, Minister Counselor and Consul General of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore, Mr. Zeng Shisheng, former Senior Minister of State of Singapore, and other guests delivered speeches, expressing their wishes for the friendly relations between China and Singapore and their good expectations for the event.

The successful holding of this event received extensive support, enthusiastic participation and active dedication from the New Chinese Chamber of Commerce. The performances are divided into three chapters, namely “Cultural Charm”, “Beauty of Integration” and “Dream of Harmony”. In the “Cultural Charm” chapter, the guzheng ensemble “Spring Festival Overture” performed by Nanyang Huadian Arts Center of Singapore and Chinese artist Ms. Lin Xiangru, and the New Year blessing song “Good Luck Comes” sung by soprano singer Ms. Du Xuemei, immersed the audience in a strong festive atmosphere. The classic Yue Opera medley “Yue Meng Lion City” by Nanqing Yue Xiaohua Class in Nanjing, China and the martial arts performance “Martial Arts Youth” by Wentao Kung Fu Workshop in Beijing, China, showed the unique charm of traditional Chinese culture and the vigor of Chinese teenagers. The children of Shanghai Yi Ke Orange Speech School brought a short situational play “Hello, Spring Festival”, which vividly showed the lively scenes of the Spring Festival and the charm of traditional culture.

In the “Beauty of Integration” chapter, artists and young people from Singapore and China showed the integration and coexistence of the cultures of the two countries through music, dance, poetry recitation and other forms. The classic song “My Sun” sung by Singapore Art Studio Music Director Zhuang Jie and the dance “Wing Chun Dance” performed by Chengdu Love Dance Studio made the audience feel the collision and integration of different cultures.

In the “Harmonious Dream” chapter, the poetry recitation “Dreams Will Bloom” and the song “The Rolling Yangtze River Flows East” by Hefei Xinhe Drama conveyed the beautiful vision of a harmonious world. In addition, the young actors of Inner Mongolia Yiyaxiu Children’s Eloquence Art Center also brought a recitation program “The Grassland in the Sky”, using their voices to depict the magnificent scenery of the Mongolian grassland and show the unique charm of Mongolian culture.

Finally, all the cast and crew sang “Friendship Forever” together. In the beautiful melody, the audience witnessed the depth and long-lasting friendship between Singapore and China.

A lucky draw was also set up during the event, giving the audience New Year’s blessings and exquisite gifts, adding to the festive atmosphere.
